I\u2019m evolving!\u201d\" align=\"middle\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not really a true fan of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbs.com\/primetime\/big_bang_theory\/\"  target=\"_blank\">CBS&#8217;s <em>The Big Bang Theory<\/em><\/a> (Mondays, 8 pm ET), and haven&#8217;t even watched a full episode yet. But every time I see it come on, I <em>blast<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=v6N3NUBW7dU\"  target=\"_blank\">its uber-cool intro<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The visuals compress the history of the universe into a 20-second home movie of galactic clusters, protozoa, b-boys, and bullet trains. Meanwhile the theme, &#8220;Big Bang Theory,&#8221; sung by Barenaked Ladies in their quintessentially hyper-wordy, ideosyncratic style, elucidate most of what you missed by being born within the last ten thousand years:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em> Our whole universe was in a hot dense state,<br \/>\nThen nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started&#8230;<br \/>\nWait!<br \/>\nThe Earth began to cool,<br \/>\nThe autotrophs began to drool,<br \/>\nNeanderthals developed tools,<br \/>\nWe built a wall (we built the pyramids!),<br \/>\nMath, science, history, unraveling the mystery<br \/>\nThat all started with the Big Bang! <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The creative success of the song led the Ladies to record <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-a8MguIMmCI\"  target=\"_blank\">a 1:45, full-length version that you can hear on this YouTube<\/a>, and see with their extended lyrics. It&#8217;s true, autotrophs (plants) don&#8217;t drool, but that makes the song <em>better<\/em>, &#8217;cause it&#8217;s a goof.
