(Their 20th season begins next month.)<\/p>\n<p>But for their upcoming debut on Africa&#8217;s digital satellite television service, DStv, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/culture\/tvandradio\/6057360\/The-Simpsons-get-African-makeover.html\"  target=\"_blank\">an Angolan ad agency decided to give the saffron-colored family a &#8220;makeover.&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4850\" title=\"6a00d8358081ff69e2011570465543970c-800wi\" src=\"http:\/\/harryallen.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/6a00d8358081ff69e2011570465543970c-800wi-300x206.jpg\" alt=\"6a00d8358081ff69e2011570465543970c-800wi\" width=\"300\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"http:\/\/harryallen.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/6a00d8358081ff69e2011570465543970c-800wi-300x206.jpg 300w, http:\/\/harryallen.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/6a00d8358081ff69e2011570465543970c-800wi.jpg 440w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Those are the results, above, says the UK&#8217;s <em>Telegraph<\/em>: &#8220;Brown skin instead of their usual yellow,&#8221; right.<\/p>\n<p>As the publication <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/culture\/tvandradio\/6057360\/The-Simpsons-get-African-makeover.html\"  target=\"_blank\">details<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>To make them appear more like a typical Angolan family, Marge has also been given a black Afro hairstyle instead of normal blue bouffant, while Lisa&#8217;s hair is stood up on end in short braids.<\/p>\n<p>The image also shows the family dressed in clothes bearing traditional African designs and they are all wearing flip flops.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>To be clear, this change was not made to the actual animation, but to print advertising being shown in the broadcast area.<\/p>\n<p>Will Angolans be offended? Actor Kirstie Alley once told me that <a href=\"http:\/\/harryallen.info\/?p=4106\"  target=\"_blank\">African-Americans&#8230;are \u201c<\/a><span class=\"status-body\"><span class=\"entry-content\"><a href=\"http:\/\/harryallen.info\/?p=4106\"  target=\"_blank\">more free and fun and light hearted\u201d<\/a> than white people.
