(Weaver got a Best Actress Academy Award nomination for her performance.)<\/p>\n<p>DirecTV, as they\u2019d done with well-known flicks from the \u201880s and \u201890s (<em>Star Trek: Generations, Major League, Back to the Future<\/em>), remixed the scene into an ad pitching the virtues of satellite over cable. Their digital fx hoo-haa even lip-synced Ripley\u2019s 22-year-old footage to new script. (Hey: If we all yell and stamp our feet loud enough, maybe they\u2019ll sign Pacino to remake the climactic &#8220;Sigh ay-low to mah lee&#8217;l frah!&#8221; bloodbath from <em>Scarface<\/em>.)<\/p>\n<p>Yet, if you&#8217;re even a tiny bit like me, even a quarter-century in, there&#8217;s still no such thing as too much <em>Aliens<\/em>. If so, wrap your head around this: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hottoys.com.hk\/\"  target=\"_blank\">Hot Toys<\/a>&#8216; 1\/6-scale, 21&#8243; high, fully articulated <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hottoys.com.hk\/product.php?cat=37&amp;pid=274\"  target=\"_blank\">Power Loader model kit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/harryallen.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/alien-power-loader-toy.jpg\"  target=\"_blank\" title=\"Hot Toys Aliens Power Loader\"><img src=\"http:\/\/harryallen.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/alien-power-loader-toy.jpg\" title=\"Hot Toys Aliens Power Loader\" alt=\"Hot Toys Aliens Power Loader\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"20\" vspace=\"20\" width=\"250\" \/><\/a>This thing is <em>massive<\/em>. Its shipping weight is ten pounds. Its fully decked-out Ripley figure, included, is a foot high, but looks small in comparison. It has a working warning signal light. As you can see from clicking on the link, the detail is incredible.<\/p>\n<p>At $249.99 from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sideshowtoy.com\/cgi-bin\/category.cgi?item=6332\"  target=\"_blank\">most retailers<\/a>, Hot Toys seems to be aiming their pointed lance straight into the heart of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kotous.com\/\"  target=\"_blank\">Kotobukiya<\/a>, the renowned Japanese manufacturer whose large-scale, scarily detailed statuettes define the craft. Then again, some would say that Hot Toys may have already won the war, when you consider both the variety and quality of their offerings, and take their figures&#8217; articulation into account.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike Ripley and the Queen, though, this battle has yet to be decided. I say we put Hot Toys&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hottoys.com.hk\/product.php?cat=47&amp;pid=217\"  target=\"_blank\">Clubber Lang<\/a>, from <em>Rocky III<\/em>, in the ring with Kotobukiya&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kotous.com\/comic-books\/batman\/batman.php\"  target=\"_blank\">Batman<\/a>, and let &#8217;em knock each other out for the coy hand of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kotous.com\/movies\/star-wars\/princess-leia.php\"  target=\"_blank\">Princess Leia Slave Girl<\/a>.
