Please, God, don’t let “100 more years” McCain win. We need to get up out of there right quick.

Thank God for these brave Americans who put themselves in danger to protect America’s interests and make the world a better place for us all. Was it all worth it? Of course it was. And it continues to be worth it. We have severely weakened Al Queda, removed a murderous despot from Iraq, and unified the country around democracy. The soldiers who died believed in a noble cause and their sacrifice should be appreciated, not vilified.

I am saddened to see people rejoicing over the fact that Americans have lost their life in the Iraqi War. Some people say we have no business being in Iraq so we deserve to have our soldiers killed. I must pose this question to all the critics of the war…Were you there? I was. I saw first hand what Saddam has done to his own country. He declared war on Iraq years before we stepped foot on his soil. Saddam Hussein has gained international notoriety for torturing and murdering thousands of his own people. He believed that by ruling with an Iron fist he would keep Iraq, which was (and still is) divided by ethnicity and religion, intact. However, his actions bespeak a tyrannical despot who stopped at nothing to punish those who opposed him.

I can not tell you how many times I have had Iraqis run up and hug me to thank us for getting rid of Saddam. They knew as long as Saddam was in power they would have no future. I believe that since we invaded Iraq to get rid of Saddam and to protect the US than it is our responsibility to help rebuild Iraq and help rebuild the broken people of Iraq. If we leave Iraq now then we will be pissing away all the hard work we have done since 2003 cause if we leave now war lords and mercenaries will flood into the country causing a massive civil war. We cannot let the media control our involvement in the war. In war soldiers die…just because we have lost some of our soldiers in the war does not mean we should pack up and head out. We made promises to the people of Iraq and we must follow through with them and see this through so we don’t leave this for our children to clean up later. But that is just my opinion and I welcome any comments you may have.
