Better buy his pops one ginormous Father’s Day gift: Eliot Spitzer

Since his fast-moving disgrace and subsequent resignation on March 17 over a prostitution scandal, former NY State governor and superdelegate Eliot Spitzer has been maintaining an incredibly low profile.

Indeed, many who watched his resignation, live, on television, may remember wondering what this once seemingly unstoppable leader, not yet fifty years old, would do with the rest of his life. Assuming he would refuse Playgirl‘s offer to pose nude—which apparently he, thankfully, did—what would his next act be? How would he make a living, given his pariah status? Where would he go?

Apparently, Spitzer’s gone the same place all kids go when they mess up: Home.

It takes one to know one: Hillary counts on her peeps

I never get tired of news footage that documents blatant racism. Also, when it’s coming from Al-Jazeera English, you know it’s got to be good. It’s going in some direction that the self-congratulatory, corporate U.S. media, still suckling the dry, cracked teat of American exceptionalism, is completely unwilling to go.

Liz Trotta, the FOX News contributor who joked, yesterday morning, that it would be good if “we” “knock off” Barack Obama, apologized for her comments, today, at the end (2:45 in) of a bit about Clinton’s RFK assassination statement clarification.

“I am so sorry about what happened yesterday and the lame attempt at humor,” said Trotta, in the patronizing tones of the E. 66th St. matron that she is. “I really just fell all over myself in making it appear that I wished Barack Obama harm, or any other candidate, for that matter. I sincerely regret it and apologize to anybody I have offended. It’s a very colorful political season, and many of us are making mistakes and saying things that we wish we hadn’t said.”

Thanks, Liz. We accept your apology, and perhaps the family of Barack Obama will, too.

Now, FOX, fire her.

Absolutely hilarious: So, is FOX’s Liz Trotta cracking up?

“… and now we have what … uh … some are reading as a suggestion that somebody knock off Osama … um … uh … Obama …. Well, both, if we could (laughs).”

I expect anything from white people, particularly the ones I most suspect get some kind of ego boost, whether directly or indirectly, from racism.

So, I’m not outraged in the least by FOX News contributor Liz Trotta’s statement to co-host Eric Shawn, on Sunday, just before noon ET, that it would be good if “we” “knock off” both Osama bin Laden, alleged 9/11 mastermind, and Barack Obama, U.S. senator and candidate for President.

She was speaking about Hillary Clinton’s reference to Robert Kennedy’s assassination, last week, and the charge many made against Clinton that it was a veiled reference to Barack Obama. (That’s Trotta, former New York bureau chief of The Washington Times, above, laughing after she made her crack.)

I have a colleague who says that, if one were to sum up the relationship between white people and non-white people, from white people to non-white people, globally, the best way to describe it, in toto, would be with what he calls the Three T’s: Tacky, Trashy, and Terroristic.

They prefer Americans, not Muslims: W. Virginians Tracy and Janet

The Real News Network (Motto: “The Future Depends On Knowing”) describes itself as “a television news and documentary network focused on providing independent and uncompromising journalism.”

So, it was fitting, a little before this past Tuesday, that TRNN journalist Matthew Palevsky went down to West Virginia to cover what this traditionally blue collar, Democratic-voting bloc was saying about the then upcoming primary. CNN covers a protest outside of the Marietta GA bar selling OBAMA IN ’08 shirts adorned with the Curious George picture, above.

I saw Amy Poehler’s toothsome chomp into Clinton’s soft, white underbelly this past weekend on SNL, and it was, indeed, hilarious. But The Huffington Post rocked this still frame hard enough to make me stand back, and re-see the beauty of the moment.

Thanks to Ebog Jonson for alerting me to another brilliant mash-up from fellow WBAI-er Jay Smooth, of ill doctrine fame.

Here, Obama supporter, Democratic Party leader, and movie gangster Marcellus Wallace smoke-filled-rooms with Hillary Clinton, letting her know in the very smoothest, frankest, most curse-laden language possible that she needs to take a fall. But, as you can tell, by the end, she still doesn’t get it. Looks like Barack is gonna have to get medieval on that…tookus.
