Dag…Guess I Better Throw Out My Copy of The Cress Theory

Garcelle and kids

Former NYPD Blue star Garcelle Beauvais recently gave birth to healthy twin boys. She proudly appears with them on the cover of 57-year-old Black weekly, Jet, above.

According to Racialicious, however, the unusually light skin color of the Haitian-American actor’s offspring (her husband is white) seems to be annoying some people, to the site’s chagrin.

For example, on the mega-gossip web site, Bossip, these rebukes:

why them babies on JET magazine, better call up “jus shoot me” and put em in BLUSH MAGAZINE…..them babies is white lol

and

i’d cancel my subscription with all that paleness on the cover….lol@ a grimace joke

and my favorite

The cover of this magazine is an advertisement for the destruction of our people. Hyperbole? Maybe…but by how much?

Sad…so sad….

Whoever a person falls in love with, and has children of God with, should not matter. We have a Black president and we should stray away from racial prejudices. She’s a successful Haitian woman who is doing her thing. Don’t hate on her children and her race. Some haitians are mixed with French anyway and we are all interconnected!!!!

Well…that’s the problem with African American today. We can’t seem to stick within our own race. There is already a shortage of black men now. Yes…she has the right to marry whomever she choose. But those babies look whiter than white and shouldn’t be on the cover of Jet. They are also NOT THE CUTEST things..so let’s be REAL! To me …..JET MAG always represented \color\. I dont see it hear!

As a person of Part Creole heritage(Haitian-French) and looking more white than black, I don’t care if one or more of my children or their children turn out to be more dark(Black) than light(White) and I know as well as all Haitian and Creoles know it will happen and Dark Haitians can and will have Light offspring, It’s crap shoots and that is a great thing, just to prove colour is just colour, it does not defined who you are, you do that! with your personality and your values. Someday instead of black and or white, it will be born with a built-in sun block or born without one.
Also having a Dark Creole Grandmother, the idiots that want to cancel their JET subscriptions that can’t even spell! “another Lady” said,”I don’t see it hear?” Really? try Here! AND attacking the children on the cover! Who the Fuck are you! Oh and you may not know but white and Black are just Colours/Colors not a race, there are blacker people in India than Africa and Missy the last time I checked we are all of the Human Race, you sound as bad as the white racist that used to BITCH at my Dark & Lovely Grandmere/Grandmother, and once more the USA Pres Obama is Not Black he is Mulatto/Metis/Mixed and raised by a White mother, then by White Grandparents when his mother died, there is No Black Experience with him, which does not make him a bad person, it just makes him unique, just like the babies you seem so bent on hell to be mean to! Do you feel better about your nasty ass self now?
Maybe you haters should all convert to the beliefs of Jesus and that is he is born of a jewish woman but has love in his heart for every man and woman without prejudice!
You must look as ugly as you sound, sad, very sad!
Merci beaucoup pour Votre temps!
no need to respond to my rant, because I don’t care to hear the shit that will or may come out of you alls mouths. vivre le Genes du Dieu! Long live the people of God!

Please let us stop with the ignorance. This should make all of us rethink the whole fallacy about race. What is really Black or White race? A “Black” mother can give birth to “White babies”and vice versa. There is only one race and it is Human Race. So when you are filling out your next paperwork you should think long and hard about who you really are as oppose to what someone else decided you were and sadly enough you bought into it.
Libraries are free so please visit them and inform yourselves about the history of human kind and stop with the slavery mentality about race. It is a social construct and was put in place for financial gain. It looks like we have been well brain washed. Check out the president, he has the same background but I guess since he is brown then he is alright. Such hypocrisy! What the heck is this?

Why all the racist hating from black readers?

When is a person with some black ancestry not considered black anymore? Don’t say that white people always consider someone black because that isn’t even close to the truth. Everyone I know would consider these kids white.

the twins skin look olive, not white. plus black women should date, marry other men, black men are not the only men for a black women

I’m from Brazil and have brown skin, and here the climate is tropical, with the’m always a little darker, but when I run out to catch sun, my skin is clearer. My mother is a product of a black mother and a father descended from Brazilian Amerindians and my father is the product of a black mother and father European (Portuguese) blonde with blue eyes. My mother has the skin tone of Halle Berry and my father looks like Leona Lewis, is neither completely white nor completely black. The mix is pretty complex. He has almost green.
My sister looks like Jennifer Nicole Freeman and white and my brother was born with blonde hair. Over time his hair was dark and the skin too!
Here in Brazil we are considered mulatto (mixed black and white).
Here there is a style of being black or white to be a style, not to speak or dress. Everyone (regardless of color or race) we talk and behave the same way.

In Brazil we define the mixture of races this way:
Mulato (white and black).
Caboclo (Indian and white (but not the Indians as Pryanka Chopra, are the indigenous tribe))

And Mameluco (mixture of black and indigenous).
